“ACHIEVEMENT
WITH
HONOR”

My Dear friends and Comrades.

Thank You all for your continued support and prayers.  It has been a year since my Dear Liz
left me and a lot has transpired.  The prostate cancer treatment is completed and I feel
good in that respect.  Other problems have cropped up but I am handling it.  I have had a
great deal of pain in my right leg and tests are ongoing.  I trust the Good Lord will see me
through.

I managed to find photos and album supplies for the 09 Album but hesitated in going to the
NY luncheon to get them to Ann because of the leg problem.  At the last minute I had a
neighbor load the van and off I went.  Not a bad ride and on arrival was so glad to see
many of the wonderful NY group already at the motel.  It was awesome to get together with
everyone and as usual I was made most welcome.  Ann and I are hoping that we (she) will
have an 09 Album ready for Atlanta and get started on the 2011 one.

Future Interesting Sites
1.        As you know I had been to Rochester, MN and had obtained a proposal which was
all we wanted.  They are a fantastic group and would make us most welcome. Only
drawback was the early Sept. dates to accommodate the great Street Festival which is a
must see.  I know everyone would love this site.

2.        Springfield, IL was another site and I’m sure with more contact we would get some
good prices, only drawback is limited tours, and only a few hotels bidding.

3.        Harrisburg/Gettysburg made a good proposal and I’m sure we could do better with
an onsite visit and personal talk.  The tours are great and the hotels within our price range.
They really want us.

4.        Last but not least, Branson, MO.  One of our most successful reunions was at
Branson, great tours and shows and great people, plus the best bus service we had in a
long time.  The hotel had changed hands and as you recall the Military Exhibits, ours
included, were take out of the Radisson.  There was such a backlash from Military Groups,
ours included with a strongly worded letter from yours truly, that the owners relented and all
the Exhibits are back, better than ever.  Branson now has a airport and some more newer
hotels.  They made a great proposal which I’m sure I could improve upon.

Anyway these are my proposed sites for the 2011 Reunion, unless someone has other
suggestions.  My personal suggestion would be Rochester, MN.

Dues
Dues were slow in coming and are needed.

Address Changes
•        I CAN NOT stress enough the need to let us know about your status regarding
address or other changes. If we don’t know, we can not get the info into the Newsletter.
Lack of info also results in newsletters being returned which in turn cost the association
money.

•        The last year had been an upset and not all went as usual or normal. I know both Ann
and I would like to get back on track re: Get Well Cards and letter to those in need.

•        We are now in good shape re Sec/Treas and Newsletter persons.  The Assoc
Account is now in Ann’s capable hands and will cover our upcoming reunion expenses.  I
have limited expenses thus far for 2011.

New Members
We have had several inquiries in this area and hopefully we can explore this important part
of the Assoc. which was ignored due to the past years upheaval.

Special Thank you
To Frank and Dolly DeRosa for their help in getting the reunion info into the Legion and
VFW magazines. I placed the info on other sites myself, when time allowed, and due to
these efforts have had at least 4 inquiries re the Atlanta Reunion.

Reunion Atlanta
All Arrangements are now in place and we hope all will go well.

Battalion
Still no contact from them to either myself or Elliott Becker, I am truly disappointed.
The Pres of the 508th , now part of the 793rd, and myself have tried to get in touch with
793rd Command to no avail.  This effects our Awards to the 793rd.

Door prizes and other items
It is most appreciated when Door prizes are given by members. I know the Hosp/Room
also loves those cookies. Thank You all.  I will have Door prizes, ( BEARS) but will be
asking that only one be claimed per Couple . It is only fair we share these great items.

I cannot think of anything further other than to be amazed by your continued support and
prayers. You are indeed the best. I am sure Ann will have more to add to this Newsletter
AND WILL UPDATE THE web page when time allows.

God Bless All.
Richard Kealy, Administrator.
